finally have time to post. Overall i had an awesome night i thought g&d was better than markus, but markus played a good set. The crowd was good and it wasn't crowded which made it even better. Thnx S0t/taylor for the drinks

*First time poster, long time lurker...

Had a great time indeed, my friend and I made it to Spirit at 12:30, a little later than we wanted to but still with enough time to catch G&D's set. Overall, I've seen G&D and Markus once before Friday and I have to say that their sets were both better this time around. G&D had the place going throughout their entire set and Markus did a good job keeping the vibe going, although the crowd slowly started to trickle away once Gabriel and Dresden finished. It was nice to be in Spirit to see big-name DJ talent and the place not be packed for a change (I suspect of course, that's because of Ferry spinning next door), but they still managed to fill the club about 3/4 to capacity (with the upstairs closed). My only complaints on the evening were hearing Markus Schulz - Without You Near dropped three times (its an awesome tune and each time was a different mix but once is enough) and no 'Serendipity' from G&D.

Welcome to NYTA. Enjoy your stay. At least until you see us for what we really are. And that's a bunch of old farty whining elitists.

Thanks! Although if you considered how old I am and how long I've been going to events, you'd probably consider me to be an old farty whining elitist as well, lol j/k. So I think I'll fit in quite well around here!

I'm just about recovered from Friday night, so it's a good time to post here. I practically slept the entire day on Saturday, was just so exhausted from the long night on Friday.

I was actually going to Crobar for Ferry, but waiting in line I changed my mind and decided Spirit was the place for me that night. Probably due to my previous bad experience at Crobar, and because I panicked after seeing the quality and quantity of the people waiting to go in.
Oh yes, and prior to this I actually made it to Brite, but I guess I was too early to spot any of you guys (around 10pm), so I made a swift exit soon after arrival, and walked around for a while, taking in New York by night :)

So I eventually got to Spirit and waited for a while for the guestlist to arrive (btw thanks RetoxNYC). I wasn't expecting to see anyone I know (let's face it, I only know a few people in the entire city), but was glad to run into Sam on the dance floor. Yes you were perfect company - the kind that stays at a comfortable distance and occasionally shares a few words or a smile - for which many thanks :) Spotted a couple other familiar faces too, which was nice.

There must be something fundamentally wrong with me, since I usually like whatever whoever is playing, once I make it to the floor. I did enjoy G&D, for the most part, and Markus all the way to the end. I was starting to get tired after 5am, and I noticed most of the people still remaining on the floor looked like they were not enjoying themselves anymore. This didn't stop the rest of us from having a blast right until the very end.
It was great that the place was not crowded, it made the whole night so much more enjoyable. And leaving the club without smelling like cigarette smoke is just something I absolutely love about New York :)

Oh, and for anyone complaining about the volume/bass, I have just one word: earplugs

So all in all, I had a great time at Spirit again, and can't wait till October to hear Markus and Armin play in Helsinki!
