That's a very nice site. I've not used Flash in a while, so i'd be a bit rusty if I tried to make anything similar.

I don't do much in the area of flash animation, but I do know that cost can vary tremendously based on who you go with. My advice would be that you never go with a company. They overcharge, because it's hard to turn a profit as a web development company rather than a freelance developer. (You have to pay your office bills, etc.)

Awesome work on that website, by the way. I thoroughly enjoyed looking around.

im getting paid for this contact I undercut last week. Company wanted to charge $80,000 fo buying 6 laptops, converting from access to mssql, and creating a way to enter data into it.

I found a way to do it for less than $25,000 and $8000 of that is all mine !!!

so you spent $17,000 for the stuff .. let's say $11,500 for the laptops, and then you're saying $5,500 for the licenses and ms sql ?? .. that's pretty good .. how many licenses did you get for the company ?? .. just wondering ??

just wondering .. have you tried purchasing oracle or peoplesoft ?? how much are those licenses ?? ..

but haha .. that is an awesome handshake you made for the contract .. how much did you make for the initial ??

pphhffftt, I convinced them to use MySQL....plus I am affiliated with a university, so we get a web server with a mysql database free. so that cut a huge cost out. laptops I think were 1,800 each, then hooked them up with verizon broadband access, then the rest was me cost for designing a flash program to input data.

me, I get my $8000 up front. thats all. .

I learned it by playing around in flash first. Then after getting a job as multimedia artist, I learned more and more depending on what I needed to do for each work. I guess the more stuff you do in it, the more you learn

Flash is pretty cool I think, good environment for making sites
