Just today, I saw what looked to be a group of ravers leaving a
diner where my brother works.

One guy was pumping his fist up in the air about five times. Sure sign he's a raver. Where they were going, I have no idea.

Opposite from what you could think, trance doesn't exist in Belgium. There aren't real trance clubs in our country. Dj's are just mixing trance with other styles like house, techno or hardstyle during a party.

are we living in the same Holland?
I dont know what vilage you are from but it must be isolated.
Here in Holland we have the largest ammount of dance festivals per year of all the world.
I dont think there is a single weekend in which we dont have a festival =of some kind.
Also, we have the largest inside and outside dance events of the world: Sensation and Dance Valley (2001). (obviously dance and street parade dont count, as they're not festivals)
Then, I think there isnt a single club in Holland not playing any form of house music. Obviously they dont all play trance, which is good, cuz it would be boring. But I cant think of a single club living off Anything other than house/trance. (although I must admit that some rnb clubs opened their doors)
As far as Bars go you will never find pure trance, just like anywhere in the world. Simply cuz trance is not made for bars, it would create a "non bar" atmosphere. Off couse u would hear some top 40 trance.
Then we have the radio stations. Pretty much all radio stations play a lot of trance from the top 40 or known artists. And off course in the weekend nights its only trance.

I think I can make the statement that Holland and the U.K. are the centre of trance music in the world.

JAPAN:

Most popular form of EDM is techno, then House, and then PSY/Goa.
The only trance parties going around are utter shite Hi-NRg cheese where mindless idiiots wear baggy pants and perform set dances, generally looking like a bunch of monkeys on speed.
The EDM scene here, however, is IMO the best in the world.. as in its still somewhat underground, growing, and the clubs/events kick serious ass.(equipment, facilities, organization) We get the cream of Techno and house DJS, none of those overated mother******s.
The Goa/Psy scene is primarily represented at outdoor parties around the base of Mt Fuji..these are also wicked.

This is what I was asking for: I was wondering if in the nederlands trance could be so involved in the cultural music of the people that also bar & pubs play trance... I thinked that holland people was so much "tranceaddicted" to do it!

And I'm really sad knowing that it's not for real.

Imagine, April 16th in Paris, and an outdoor party... It was only 10 degrees Celsius, there was no alcohol available and 7.500 people were still going completely bananas!!!
I thought that was absolutely awesome! And it shows finally, that you can enjoy electronic music without any stimulances and still have a great night! Finally we can leave that image behind that you need any kind of drugs to enjoy electronic music.

greece is dominated by greek music a.k.a skyladika, its something like country music is for americans....shit both ways!
house comes next, and rnb...
big names are coming more often as the time goes by....but they go only in athens & thesalloniki....pig fuck3rz!..

my island is a big tourist area so we can listen anything we want here, atleast for 5-6 months per year...

the greek progressive scene is great, if not the best imo. So many talents, not afraid of pushing the envelopes. Its definitely the way forward for the prog scene!!!
