I guess in a neutral state I'd just listen to old Ministry compilations (good ones), or just music I'm too much of a noob to really understand/associate with (but I still like) e.g. Orbital, Aphex Twin.

Harold Budd - "Abandoned Cities"
great track, basically just drones/tones the whole way through
you can throw it on when you're not feeling any way in particular, but it usually leaves me feeling depressed and empty!

Orbital's a good choice. Belfast resembles Papua stylistically quite a lot, even though the vibe and elements are quite different. And I like the way The Brown Album is so rich and rewarding without ever committing itself to a clear-cut emotional state.
Ulrich Schnauss. I'm so confused when I listen to his albums. Will it be tears of joy or pain? Eventually my brain gets really confused and resorts to some neautral state of blissful calm childhood nostalgia.
