Yea I meant the subsitution of the letter s. However, I have just made a bit of a fool of myself because utilize is actually the correct spelling either way (I think. It's been a long day). But my point and pet peeve still stands; I don't like that z being used instead of a s. ie. realize. Grrr.

Inserting the word "like" into sentences where it's clearly unneeded is far worse than similar insertions of the word "as". Your sentence would be perfectly adequate as follows:
"It seems I'm the only one here..."

Yea it really is a bit silly picking holes with people's sentences over the internet. Firstly, noone cares (as long as it is coherent, then whats the problem?). And secondly, if you really look closely you can take most sentences and find ways to improve them, so you're only subjecting yourself to possible ridiculing anyway, as observed in starglider's post above.
