this board doesnt necessarily cater to females, or make us feel comfortable doing a thread like this, and i think all the girls will back me up here. why? because it seems every time i come in a forum, there are 5 million post-filled threads posting tons of pictures of naked (or mostly naked) girls.
or the fact that 85% of all the guys who post on here have some really huge naked picture of a girl in their signature.
or that a huge quantity of the threads started (that arent about listing pictures of them) are about them in some way like that.
i dunno, i know most of the guys might tell me im wrong for this, but in general, this board really is mostly guys. and since it is, i know that i personally have read a lot of stuff or seen a lot of the threads and felt a little bit weird about being here, even tho i love trance just as much. i mean, think about it. all the girls on here constantly see the guys on the board post "hey, lets post hot naked chicks in this thread/our sig/man isnt she hot! oh who is that? oh man, such a hottie"... and then you really expect those same (few) girls to all post their pictures to you in a thread asking the same thing (wanting to rate them on their looks)? can you see the attitude they might think you will have?
shrug. any of the girls have a comment on what i just said?

I'm not a girl but still would like to comment on that:
Very deep, intelligent...and quite worrying. Maybe this is the reason there's (relatively) few girls involved in anything I dig: Computing, raving, gaming, drinking etc.
I've never noticed it before, but - yes, there's a special "atmosphere" at these pages: Swearing, nude pics (I'm not gay I hasten to add), cars, soccer - all not especially girl-like. But somehow it's very liberating to have this place, where you know what to expect from people and you know exactly where the line should be drawn and how to say things (well, some do). Trance may have brought us together, but (at least to me) it's the community in its entirety that keeps us here.
It's very unfortunate if this is incompatible with the feminine nature, but your best course of action would probably be to ignore stuff you find sexually offensive and focus on all the things you like. Well, my brain is a mishmash today, so I'll end this potential nonsense before I destroy my point...

tranceaholic:
your comments are well put. i am a very non-typical girl, and am into everything you mentioned that isn't typical of the female gender. i have been playing video games since the old school TI before NES came out (rpgs mostly, i can talk with anyone for hours about them), been on computers since i was 5 (computer science major at my university), i love sci fi, i can drink anyone under the table with hard alcohol - or at least i can try.. im kinda small heh (mmmmm 151 all i drank all summer), and then i also love things like piercings, biomechanical things/ideas (i have huge biomechanical tats all over my body and guys tend to be surprised by that), etc etc.
and its interesting, because any time i come to a place that mainly consists of guys for that reason, they are shocked and happy a girl is there. for example, i'm usually in a hub on direct connect for anime, and just mentioning the fact that im a girl all of a sudden turns lots of heads, they are all so surprised that a girl would be into that kind of stuff. heh i constantly hear "a girl that likes anime, computers, games, AND *insert something else here*??? why don't i ever meet girls like that??"
so at least for me, its not that i come into a situation or board like this where i think "this needs to be more feminine", because i'm into a lot of the same kinds of things all the guys are (like i said, non-typical )
its more that i wish all the guys on the board would stop and realize before they post that girls DO read the board, and always posting threads about naked chicks, etc... doesn't do much but potentially defer them from posting. i mean, shit... so many times ive read a thread that i really thought looked interesting about trance or something else, then when i click on it, i discover that the first person posted about the subject, and then the thread turned into a discussion about "who is that hot naked chick in your signature??". of course that makes me not want to respond. that happens a LOT with threads.
so i guess with me, i still post because i love trance, and i wont stop posting... i just wish sometimes that guys would realize girls do read the board and wouldn't act so much like they are 14, in junior high, always talking derogatorily about women/showing playboy pictures... yanno? and i know that usually when guys notice girls are reading stuff too, they tone it down, and are considerate... but a lot of people can't get it through their heads on this board and still act like everyone who reads/posts are a bunch of 14-16 year old males who want to gawk at women all day.
anyways, i know what im saying has kind of gotten off topic, but this is something ive wanted to say for awhile about this board in general..
