I recomend you try this program called Bazooka Spyware Scanner, It will not remove them, But it will detect and tell you what kind of spyware you have, You click on the name of the Spyware and it takes you to a page that talks about that paticular spyware and offers a solution to remove it, But you would have to read it carefully cause they have instructions on how to remove that paticular spyware like what registy entries it tells you to remove and such, And which files to delete, you can download the program right here.

you have two options, Either switch to a Mac or Linux, But keep in mind, Your not gonna find much suport for them as you do in XP, You'll never find programs like Winamp and such running on a mac, Also, Mac or Linux arent known for running games on them if your a PC gamer.

but yeah good firewall and management is key. One good updated virus scanner is all you need, norton is best. And one spyware scanner is good as well like ad-aware. you don't need all these other free apps clunkin up your HD like ad-watch, spy-hunter, spy-fukker etc.

I really recommend seeking and destroying them on your own. No one has mentioned Hijack-This yet. Fukkin program pwns. You can view a bunch of dodgy registry shit and it will edit the ones you want to.

Also look up the thread exe on google and you will surely find a forum or something that will tell you the ins and outs of the particular virus/spyware and how to remove it. Really viruses don't have a chance these days with all the info and apps out there.

Oh, I forgot to mention about that to, Theres an official site where you would post the logs from hijack this, And the people on there will tell you what you what registry entries to remove, To get rid of the spyware, But that takes forever cause they would have to look thru the entire logs to find the culprits.
