Personally, Im not a fan of Armin or Ferry... atleast Armin as of late has really been banging it out (I think he let Paul borrow all his fluff records) - Ferry's style is too bland for my taste, all the tracks he plays sound the same to me.
As for Paul, I think hes having an identity/genre crisis. It seems like he's really feeling the house lately, but doesnt want to betray his trance roots - and his Summerstage set really showed it because of how back and forth his sets were.
As for Tiesto, listen to his latest Cream @ Amnesia sets (the 2005 and the Essential Mix), I think they are really good. The sets build very nicely, and it seems like hes playing less fluff.

Vlad you soooo right about that Tiesto @ Cream set. Also PVD is branching into house.
Anyways Im the biggest hater of Jonathan Peters. You will never hear a good thing about him from my mouth or fingers(typing). I think he is the most over rated DJ. I hate DJ's that only can play in one location. Go outside of NYC and ask about JP. JP's fans are just retarted too I wont get into the specifics but they are mostly cracked up guidos(Im part italian)

Who cares about the demographic that he atracts. Every week for 8 years he packed clubs in NYC. I dont like him either as a DJ, but you cant knock his ability to bring a crowd.

LOL i see that!!!
I was at the opening night of factory and went religously for a couple years......JP was doin Fridays nights there and quite honestly it was the craziest bonkers club I have ever gone (besides a few Twilo nights on Fridays)....those friday nights were pulling all types at that time from ravers to guido 2k's....later on I agree it did get really stupid in there...
but the thing is this ...when people go hear someone every week they begin to get familuar with tracks...when guys are playing all over the world u miss out on an evolving set......your getting the evolving set 3 months apart and missing a ton of material in between.....its like missing episodes of your favorite TV show or something
I remember dropping my girlfriend off at like 5am on a Sat morning and went to cracktory to meet my friends from the time i got in there to the time i left it was just completely off the wall and i remeber leaving completely satisfied......very rarely have i felt that
I know this but the people that he brought were know nothing about the music and think that he is the best dj etc.

I understand that but I respect a DJ who can have a global appeal. Just my opinon not bashing yours but my opinion is that i hate him. Also his productions are horrible.

But you only know his new crowd, my understanding is that when he first emerged thru about 99-00, before guidoism hit like a storm, his crowds were just your average music lover. Also, he didnt play back than like he does now - what Ive heard is that he wasnt that much of a crackhead back than and spun some really amazing sets.
What I think happened was once JP became famous in NYC, it went to his head - and he milked it to the very last second. He now realized that he doesnt have to do much to make people happy, and all he has to do is put his name on a billboard and people will come.

I think u hit the nail on the head with this one.....he did turn into meatball...
this is not no joke right here....i think it was in 98 or 99 WMC....I went to see oakenfold in "the mix" after hours (david padilla's club who I also happen to think is an amazing DJ) JP came in there with his boys......... the lights came on after the last track was played...i 4get if it was oakey or padilla playing but the light guys starts yelling "do we have any DJ's or NY DJ 's in the house?" something to that effect and all JP's boys start chanting we got JP in the house!!! HOOOO HOOOO
They turn around and ask if him if he wants to come up and play....."I was sitting there like what the fuck is going on here???" to myself
He declines and says he doesn't have his records and they start yelling at him to go get his shit at the hotel!!!!!
The kid was yelling at him" go get your shit...we will wait for u( its like 6-7 am)
If u ever been to the mix u know that room with the dance floor....picture that 6-7 am with the lights on with this scene going on with peeps everywhere.....
So jonathon says to the crowd in that lispy voice" if u wanna hear me play come to warsttthaw!" and dipped out the fire door!
