Lol, well I can give both sides of the coin.

Pioneer is renound for building Mixers like tanks. If you slam the crossfaders around, chop using the upfaders, and generally submit the Mixer to worse abuse than Mike Tyson on a date; the Pioneer is the one for you.

On the other hand, if you're on a desperate budget and absolutely must have FX, Mix like a woman and/or don't use the crossfaders at all; that Numark will do it for you. And yes, Numarks do give a very bright and detailed sound, if perhaps a slightly low bottom end.

I went for the Pioneer DJM-300S and am pretty happy. The BPM counters are gimmick though.

I agree with you sandeep

but you didn't have to throw in that woman comment lol

and the dude that didn't agree ttx1>tech12

TTX-1's higher torque than technics
far better feature and digital sound instead of analogue
better features for battle position
two tone arms
BPM counter

and they LOOK PRETTY!

it almost seems like you work for pioneer

first of all, your last comment about looks/ads/etc is odd...

it seems like you are jealous because you probably own everything pioneer and are on the bandwagon, while numark is trying to use a pricing strategy in order to penetrate the market...their turntables and mixers are much cheaper than pioneer, and offer sound quality that is AT THE LEAST equal (but better) than the pioneer mixers

their ttx-1's are very recent technology and are more accurate than the tech's, which are like 20 years old!

pioneer is just hanging on to its name
and you say the effects are pointless? well the sampling effects and beatkeeping techonlogy (which DESTROYS pioneer's useless bpm counters) is accurate and useful, for a dj who knows how to use it, but that's the whole point isn't it...to use it wisely, so the technology is there with a numark mixer

i have a Numark 5000fx and it's a brand new mixer with brand new technology and I am oh so glad i got it, at almost half the price of a DJM 600 that i was going to get

and whata hell do you mean 'pio=more power'...is your mixer built for demolition derby or something????

ps: i go for quality of each product line, as i do have a pair of cdj800's so i recognize where they are strong, however numark has a lot to offer

I really dont like arguaing, so im not going to. im going to politely tell you what i mean and where im coming from.

I OWN THE DXM 06 AND 2 TT500s. For starters. so by no means am i a numark hater/pio lover etc.

I picked them both with great care and do not regret my decision, however, if i had the choice again, i would still get the tt500s but not the dxm, when i got my dxm it was far cheaper than the pio 300. i was and still am always strapped for cash, when it comes to these sorts of things.

I dont liek the dxm effects as i find them too basic, and when any dj is at the point in his career where he is buying a dxm 06 i think their focus should be more on beatmatching and the basics of mixing rather than the effects of their dxm 06, as they really arent gonna push any limits anyways.

I believe the pio is just more powerful. in terms of build. and build is very important to me, and if you had read my earlier posts.. or in another very similar thread i already complained about my cracking numark dxm faders. which is annoying for doing longer mixes and i often find the volume just goes a little haywire when the fader is down i still hear it lound, when i move the fader up slowly it jumps and the volume fluctuates to the point of ruining a perfectly good mix and in some cases, and entire demo.

Im sure your numark 5000 is great, ive looked at it, and cosidered spending money on it, providing it has replaceable faders.

and referring to your first comment, the recent numark lines look great, and while you may not believe that those things lure in customers, i do and and proud to admit it.

Please, im with YOU on this argument and am quick to defend numark in almost all arguments. but on this one im sorry buddy.

That really should be the end of this thread now! He's got it spot on. I deliberately went for DJM-300S cos I know it takes me a good minute or two, to lock the pitch in. Far too many kids think that their Mixes will sound great with some dodgy FX thrown over it. It actually ends up sounding so much worse it's unbelievable.

When you're at the stage when your Mixing is good enough to be able to drop in FX, you'll go for the DJM-600 or EFX Unit hooked up to your main Mixer. In the mean time, get to grips with the basics.

Ok you said ACCURACY though in your original post. That is false. Fairly sad for a deck who's competition is 30 years old.

Exactly. If you are going to do something right you do it the first time. Pretty sad when you have that much time to come up with a better deck, but all you can come up with is more power and less accuracy.

I wasn't talking about the DXM however, i was focusing on the 5000fx
However, everything else I agree with you on totally..

this is actually a really good thread because it's exactly spot on that initially efx and all that shouldn't come into play, as beatmatching and just general raw mixing skills need to be developped...

I've used the Numark PPD01 as well, and for a 2 channel mixer that's digital i was pretty impressed, I think those that have bought the DXM should of went for the PPD01 instead....

and technics..oh man, I don't even want to start that war...

"burtonlinx what has changed on techs in the past 10 years?

nothing?"

you mean 20 right??

Good, but please think before you label my posts idiotic.

in the core, yes, by all means label them that, however in the booth i try and put a little more thought into them.

I think Im gonna get the dxm06, mostly because of the price. I really don't plan on using the effects for now until I get good at mixing. I like the kill switches on the dxm; I use them alot when mixing on my pc.
