Canadian cuisine.... that's a good one! There is a chip wagon at Nathen Phillips Square (Queen and Bay) that serves a really good poutin (which is really the only true Canadian cuisine I can think of).
Everything in TO is fairly close. I recommend Queen Street west of University for shopping... it has the coolest shit.
As for Chinese... hit up Chinatown (Spadina and Dundas St. area). Any resturant with a dead duck in the window is pretty good. My favorit place is on Dundas St. one block east of University. I can't recall the name but they have a purple sign and are on the south east corner of Dundas and Centre Ave. They make a satay beef that's to kill for.

Thanks mate. Just a few more questions and I'll stop bothering you guys. Is there a dress code for The Guv? Again thanks for all the info.

No bother.
Dress comfortably. I would recommend you wear something cool and breathable as it gets incredibly hot in the Guv.

If your looking for Canadian Cusine, check out Jamie Kennedys Wine bar ( church and the esplanade), Scaramouche ( yorkville) or Bymark ( Wellington st near bay)
all are a bit pricey, but well worth it, the food is incredible

Thanks again guys. What can I expect as far as drink prices go? I'm used to paying about 10 American dollars for a mixed drink and about 4-5 dollars for a beer.

Expect to get the smallest dose of liquor poured ever- like only 1-1.5 oz per drink. If u want a double shot, expect to pay double. Stick with the beer. It's cheaper & stronger.
U should check out the St. Lawrence Market at Front & Jarvis on Fri or Sat (daytime hours). Great 2-level farmers market with some great prepared foods inside, at good prices.
Izakaya on Front St. is a new Japanese noodle house. Spend the $20 to get the bottle of unfiltered sake- best stuff ever!!! Avoid the chili beef ramen soup, unless u can handle a bowlful of freshly sliced chilis.
There's a large Chinatown at Spadina & Dundas, w/loads of Chinese & vietname restaurants. House of Gourmet at 484 Dundas St W has good quality food.
Shopping- head to Queen St. east of Spadina- it's the 'hip' drag. Eaton Centre mall is at the corner of Yonge & Queen. Kensington Market is tucked behind Chinatown & has lots of little used/vintage clothing shops & a unique vibe.

if you are looking for good budget asian food:
jun jun for sushi on college just east of bathurst
pho 88 for vietnamese on spadina (near dundas) basically below where boa was (it feels weird saying where boa 'was')
for chinese lee garden or new ho king on spadina (all around dundas)
for some pan asian and cdn-- cheap and relaxing, good place to get drinks etc-- nice place to relax.. slow service but good food--decent pad thai and sandwhiches
for french, a bit more pricey but still reasonable, bodega on baldwin st
jamie kennedy wine bar is a good suggestion but pricey, small and be prepared to wait a loooooong time, they do not take reservations either-- if you and your friends have large appetites, not a great choice
for a bit pricer sushi, but still reasoable--amazing quality-- lily @ broadview
PM me is you need any further info-- i'm happy to help!
