nope...It had its moments, but I was bored listening to that EM for the most part. He was 100000000000000000000000000 times better when I saw him open up for PvD

agreed he was better opening for PvD but still his EM set was what was available to hear over and over... the opener for PvD was a one time thing for those who were there..
unless you somehow managed to pull that magic out of hat and got his opening set??
and I never said trance died... but I felt that most of 03-04 was a lul in trance... some flashes of brillance here and there but it seems trance is cyclic...
99 02 05... hmmm

Geez I don't know what rocks you've been hiding but there were great tunes in 2003 and 2004... oh yeah you were hiding under the Tiesto and PvD rock... There's more to trance than what they play... If anything 2003 was a bigger year for trance than 2004.
2003 highlights
Pervading Call - Destiny (Ace's Delight instrumental)
Envio - Touched by the Sun
Ace's Delight - Mental Theme
BK and Andy Farely - Accelerate
Dumonde - Human
Saltwater - The Legacy (Alphazone Mix)
Darren Tate vs Jono Grant - Let The Light Shine In (Vocal Mix)
Mark Otten - Mushroom Therapy (Lightscape Mix)
Nalin and Kane - Beachball (Gabriel and Dresden Mix)
and of course everybody's favorite.... Rank 1 - Breathing (Airwave 2003)
...
and not to forget many trance classics were released that year that broke into the commercial mainstream such as..
Tiesto - Adagio for Strings
Tiesto - Traffic
Armin van Buuren - Burned with Desire (Rising Star Mix)
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes
Paul van Dyk - Connected / Time of Our Lives
2004 highlights
Oceanlab - Satellite (sorry DA, but it was a tune for awhile even tho it's kind of cheese now
Smith and Pledger (feat Carrie Skipper) - Forever
Markus Schulz presents Elevation - Clear Blue
Coderoy - Deeper
Ridgewalkers (feat El) - Find (Andy Moor Mix)
Whiteroom - The White Room
MK-S - Illuminate
Signum (feat Anita Kelsey) - Come Around Again
Deepsky - Talk Like A Stranger
Haak - Frenzy (MK-S Mix)

trance never left .. what left were the so called fans that are really "SHEEP" and even though the really loved trance more than other genres they decided to move to other genres cause thats what most clubs were playing. i know this because i talk to alot of club owners and they tell me the real reason they (for example) rather play house at their parties . the reason is really simple . house music attracts a larger drinking crowd. thats why theres a decline in extacy and other drugs as well. the main drugs in house music clubs is now coke and tina .. and those usually go hand in hand with a shitload of drinking and thats where they make the big bucks . luis puig for example (owner of club space) is really a long time trance head . he's great friends with tiesto and pvd . and although he loves that music .. his club is mainly house music . HE IS A BUSINESS MAN !!! he knows what will make his club more money .. and thats why he now only brings in the big name trance acts .. so that he can make his money at the door . charge $40 to $80 at the door and still make up for the money that would lack in drink sales . and since most of the people that go clubbing really arent into the music but mostly into going to pick up chicks and to get plastered.. most wanna go to the biggest club in miami where there will be more people . dont get me wrong , theres nothing wrong with picking up chicks or getting plastered .. im all for that . but i wouldnt give up my musical likes just to go to a club where there will be more people .. its sad if you ask me . but its reality. so really trance never left .. the true trance lovers never stopped .. is it coming back ?? we will have to see if people start caring more about the music than where there are more hoochies to pick up . next time any of you go to space or any other big club , walk around and pull aside any random person of the crowd and ask em what the name of the dj playing is .. i guarantee 60% of the people you ask wont even know the name of the dj. 20% wont even pronounce the name right , and 20% will be the ones that know the music well .
so iffffff trance was dead it was only because these big towns are just people who have no musical knowledge at all . sheep as i like to call then rule in numbers . hopefully more people learn to have a mind of their own and follow their own taste in music. and you will see how trance makes its way to being played in alot more clubs in miami and the crowds gradually become what they were. peace

in my opinion, 2005 has been the best year so far.
ive heard so much good stuff, livesets, asot's that have blown me away, tracks that i still listen to for the thousandth time like Tranquility base - surrender n Reflect - Need to be Loved. i never heard this stuff in the earlier years. 2005 sounds much different than 2003-. to me, anything before 2003 is old stuff that ive heard far too many times.
