This thread makes me sad b/c I appreciate good trance. I am out at alot of clubs seeing alot of different DJ's all the time.

I wasn't part of the movement of the 90's or 00 but I can't get enough of it now.

How is George Acosta not a real trance DJ? I saw him here in Seattle and I could have sworn he was not a hologram spinning 50 Cent records. Looked and sounded pretty real to me.

Its fucking subjective. Rap isn't all crap. Theres some damn good songs if you dig deep kinda like trance. Think about it, most of the surface commercialized radio crap is shit in trance? why not in rap as well? Its the same situation everywhere and in every form of music.

I for one, listen to a lot of trip hop, and love it to death.

Oh and if the amercian history of trance is anything like what I've seen of the canadian history of trance, its like this. (warning, satire ahead)

trance the same as techno,
the only song anyone ever plays is sandstorm.
(A few people know otherwise of course, but they are exceptions)

No. Techno was born out of electro there, and techno is where trance was born from when it met acid house. However, trance was born entirely in Europe- specifically Germany and the UK.

I love learning about music history. I read that the rave culture started in abondoned warehouses in germany.

Im an American and i love everything in EDM (except for those cheesy tracks u would find on that game dance dance revolution). It's all i listen to so BOO-YAH SUCKAS!!! haha, yeah well...i live in hawaii and the edm scene down here is pretty much crap. mostly all of the music played down here is RnB, Rap, Reggae, and Rock. the "supposedly" top dj here on the islands plays edm but its more of the cheesy vocal tracks along with tracks like Dj Jean- The Launch, Darude- Sandstorm, Darude- Music and things in that area. not too much DJs here stick out the popular trance tracks that are in Europe. There is some DnB down here but not too much dig it. Irritates the crap out of me when i am listening to Trance, House, or even more so DnB and people automatically say that its Techno. HELL NO!....but yeah...i really do love driving techno. that stuff is great. (dont know what driving techno is?...check out these tunes....Mauro Picotto- Baguetta, Hydraulix- Hydraulix 23, Andre Walter- Phobia, and the artist D.A.V.E. the drummer )
I gotta find a way to bring out what we all listen to on these forums. It's gonna be tough.
