yeah i saw that kid. i had a word with one of the party staff people and apparently, the kid and the kid's friends say it was the fire display that triggered the seizure and that it had nothing to do with drugs (i don't know about that one).

i am pretty much a straight-edge minus my addiction to caffiene and i managed to have a bangin' time in a sober state.

i was sober too and could not enjoy myself... i have a new goal

1.) eliminate the e-tard stereotype and get rid of these all ages festivals... or atleast, get EDM out of there

2.) eliminate the older asian couples that swing themselves across the entire dancefloor (i don't care if i sound like Hitler). if they don't procreate, im over it


i understand what harry lemon meant when he said he won't play if there are glowsticks in the crowd. anyone else going to help me save face for EDM?

Dude, did you not notice what was going on during Christopher Lawrence's first songs? The sound guys had to completely tear down Ritchie Hawtin's setup because he was using Ableton Live or Final Scratch or something.

Christopher Lawrence had to put on CDs on a single player to mix out of Ritchie while they brought in the turntables in a huge coffin for him. There was about ten sound guys on stage trying to sort it out.  I felt sorry for Christopher, he was a good sport considering the changeover in the soundsystem.

I was there and noticed the same thing about the Hawtin/Lawrence transition. Felt bad for Lawrence because his first song got screwed by Hawtin's setup being torn down.

Lawrence came back with avengence though, it's one of the most banging sets I've heard him play. Crowd was going mental. My feet were aching by the end of his set, was too tired to take Armin in properly.

REMEMBER KIDS, its all about making YOUR night fun and not allowing other people ruin it for you. A massive rave once a year will not ruin you.

Okay let’s see here, where did the night begin? Well it began with everyone driving down to San Bernardino around 2pm for an early check in at the Best Western. Brandy, George, Chris, The Kosmic Twins (Nathan & Daniel), Brett, Vijay and I. We start off early with a case of beer and begin to get ready. WARNING: The Kosmic Twins are actual Club Kid performers from NY. These boys live for getting dressed up in crazy costumes and parting their asses off. I did not read this warning until after the night began. So 5pm rolls around and we are finally able to round everyone up and roll out.

We arrive at Nocturnal in three separate cars, when all of a sudden The Kosmic Twins tell me to go into the performer’s parking lot. I was like um yeah, well they will never let us all in cause only the two of you are performers. How dare I doubt the Kosmic Twins? These boys jumped out and immediately started working the guard. Then abracadabra the gates open and we are all led in. I am just laughing the whole time while I am parking my car. So then we start walking towards the main entrance, and the Twins say, no don’t bother with the will call ticket line, we are going to get everyone in through VIP. Again, I am like um yeah, only half of us are dressed up in costume, how the heck are they going to pull off VIP for 8 people when we were never added to any list? Abracadabra, we all have VIP wrist bands. WTF???

Once we get in, the Twins start to get mobbed by all the candy kid paparazzi, begging to take pics with them in their crazy get ups. Every ten steps we took, these guys are stopping and posing for a pic. Um yeah, I don’t think I could handle this all night. So after a quick huddle, we break and decide to split into two teams. My team being the pink team consisting of Brett, Vijay, Chris and I, and Brandy’s team being the blue team, consisting of her, George and the Twins.

I lead my team out onto the grassy knoll where the house music was playing. Collette had just come on, so we decided to catch her for 30min before we went over to see Glaude. Team member Chris decided to take a bathroom break and he promises to come right back. Well 20 min goes buy and Chris has not returned. What happened to Chris? Did he meet the 17 year old girl of his dreams and decide to get down in the port a potty? Well iono, but LATAs Julia, Kfrogger, DJ Faded and Neinerlove are texting me and we have a schedule to follow, so we need to move on. One team member from Carrie’s team is now missing in action.

We enter the Labyrinth and immediately Glaude gets us dancing. I finally make it to the front of the stage where LATAs always hang, and low and behold, I see Kfrogger, Miss Julia, DJ Faded, Neinerlove, Gypsygirl, HotDogWater, Electrophile, Rocky, and Freshcoast. Neinerlove hooked me up with a special handmade candy necklace and matching bracelet, and Kfrogger hooked me up with a special gift as well. Aaaaaaah so thoughtful of them. We dance, take a bunch of crazy pics and head out to the Drum and Bass stage. Holy crap, this room was banging. I don’t remember who was on at the time, but we stayed for 45min of killer thumping bass and an MC laying down some crazy rhymes.

We head over to the Beer Garden to meet up with the rest of our group, and on the way there, we notice this little tent set up with some killer Break Beats and an MC rockin the mic. WTF, these guys were kicking ass. We get side tracked and end up hanging out for 30min. Then off to the beer garden. Chris has been found and picked up by team 2 and he is still parting strong. w00t GO Chris from Ohio.

Then back to the Labyrinth to catch some Richie Hawtin. More dancing, more hanging with my fellow crazy TAs and more awesome pics. We decide to take a break and go walk around outside a bit. We come across this large jumping castle. Now I was kind of hesitant at first, cause I didn’t want my shoes to get stolen, nor did I want a bunch of crazy kids jumping all over me. OMG now I know why little kids love this so much. We were bouncing and flying all over the place. Two of my friends would get on each side of me and jump up and down, and all I did was stand there and they had me flying all over the place. He he he too much fun.

Okay enough messing around, now its time to get serious and do some real parting. We head back to the Labyrinth just in time for Lawrence to go on. Aaaaah yes, this hit the spot, finally some real melodic/epic trance. Followed up by Armin with more melodic/epic trance. The peak of my night.

Whoa what a night. We start heading back to our cars when we see DJ Faded and Ninerlove walking out. Faded says I am going to go get some of my equipment and finish off your b-day celebration with a special after hours. OMG this just topped off my night. The party wasn’t going to end at 2am. We all head back to my hotel and Faded got busy spinning NOTHING but CDs. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Party finally came to and end at 7am this morning, I finally made it home around 4pm. OMG I DIE NOW

you're right about not letting all the freaks ruin your night, but i have a phobia of sweaty cracked out freaks (no joke).

Once in Toronto last year, I went to Guv to see Mauro, but the crowd was so bad that i left EARLY! me, out of all people left and missed out on atleast half of mauro's set.

don't blame it on the ableton! he screwed himself! and he was using cd-js. i believe those have pitch control. agreed about the asians. there are just too many of them "rolling" with their posses. they come in large numbers. it's not just the asians, but i'm just really tired of the people sitting on the floor in general. on second thought, it's a rave. raves are notorious for the drugs. you just pretty much have to deal with it until you are 21. you people that say you will never go to a rave again, ha! i bet you are under 21 and cant have it any other way. sorry, no spundae, mayan, and giant for you however if PvD comes into town for the next massive, i'm pretty sure you will think about it twice. i didn't let any of them bother me. did you guys notice it was a sausage fest? there weren't that many females. that was a bummer for me. however, i did hand a piece of gum to some girl that was on something, and she gave me a hug! it was funny.

Man...all i have to say is AVB was fucking awesome. He ended the set LIFTING the DJ DECK 90 degrees to show the audience and let the last song play until it cut out! Just AMAZING. Impressive. =]
