I try to respect the new people I meet, and afford them trust that extends as far as - but not into - my wallet. |
Exactly right...

sounds good when you read it, but alot of people will take advantage of this point of view and fuck you over.....everything needs to be earned |
...I think you were talking about trust, shifty...I've never been fucked over by respecting someone that didn't deserve it (actually, you can still be fucked over because you lose credibility if you vouch for someone you respect and they end up letting you down)...that HAS happened to me...
...so nevermind; originally the TRUST bit seems to be something that you can get fucked over by way more (e.g. money, love, etc.) but still be careful about who you respect.
Ah fuck it, I'm too naive to be careful about these sorts of things...I feel I'm lucky that the people I know will (hopefully) take care of me.

Hey man, I wasn't questioning that; after reading Diginut's post after yours I kinda thought he was referring to your post and I also didn't see a clear example of how you could get screwed over for respecting somebody...but then I came up with an example all by my lonesome...do you have any different examples? (just out of curiosity)
