Criticising classic early Trance for being simple is like criticising Mozart for being simple compared to Wagner. Sure Mozart sounds simple compared to Wagner, especially in terms of orchestral sound, but they're both great composers.
It's exactly the same with electronic music, going by your reasoning Kraftwerk must be at the bottom of the pile, and what about 'I Feel Love'? They're both simple but of the very highest quality and will stand the test of time. As will, in my opinion, the classics by Sven Vath, Jam & Spoon et al.
