Nonsense. How do you think you'd cope if you suddenly lost the functioning of 97% of your brain?
The brain has a certain amount of plasticity if the damage occurs very early in life or a congenital condition. But this isn't so much a case of 'healing' as just the brain developing in a slightly different way to deal with the damage.
