Problem is with sub genres is they are open to interpretation by everyone...and subject to their own background...

This is where the pigeon-holing plays a part.

I had a listen to the Jaia stuff, which to me is just very downtempo psy (very raw sounding) and as such not what I am looking for.

I am looking for stuff as per the examples I gave, thanks for all the help guys

not much but some labels still release this kind of stuff. for example Propulsion Records with acts such as Nicholas Bennison, Micah, Descent etc.
