i think we definitely enjoyed ourselves to the fullest.. i spent roughly the same amount... my biggest piece of advice is... go with 3 other friends..buy a map and RENT A CAR. MUST DO. that's how we got to all the truly gorgeous beaches, etc.. plus, just gettin from one club to another will cost you 50 euros there and back.. renting a car is around 35 Euros a day. so you can see how much money you save right there alone. splitting the cost between 4-5 people is cheap as hell too.
if you wanna spend less money, go in september. the airfare/hotels are significantly cheaper. i think sunshine79 got her plane tickets for around $500 round trip. however, both AirPlusComet and Iberia Airlines SUCK. iberia = delays/lost luggage (happened to one of our friends as well as another friend of mine within the same week!)
also, unless you wanna stay around drunk brits and crappy clubs, do NOT stay in san antonio..playa d'en bossa or ibiza town is much nicer ..plus it's closer to pacha/space/dc10.. amnesia/privilege are right in the middle of san antonio and ibiza town, middle of the island..
and always buy your tickets beforehand (there are a billion ticket stores all over the island)...it saves you a LOT of money as well.
