Under your definition, I've seen James Zabiela, Luke Chable, Danny Howells, Armin van Buuren, Sasha, John Digweed all "in concert".

Personally, when I think of a concert, I think of instruments like guitars, drums, and basses, not decks and synths, but that may be a bit too narrow-minded.

actually your right they are concerts aswell.... Well people make them that way... The time when people just went for the music and to dance has long since passed people go to see that "certain" dj eventhough a majority of the local dj's can play a equivilent set if not better.....

But where would you like the DJ to be??? I mean, just because a DJ interacts with the crowd, which is what I'd prefer anyhow (I'm not saying the "Jesus pose" all the time or anything), doesn't mean it's still not about the music. Local DJs are good, and I've been out to see some of them, but I sometimes feel that when the booth is removed from the crowd, a little something is lost. Even the TFST July 4th BBQ, which was all local DJs, was a concert.

Having a DJ be out in front allows for the sense that they're personally giving you something specially designed for the crowd at that point in time, which is a very human sort of interaction. For me, if he's hidden in a corner, it might as well be a pre-recorded set being played over the soundsystem because that personal touch is taken away.
