Compared to what they used to have... they are Dennis Eckersley. Back in the day, Ramiro to Mariano was a lethal 1-2 punch of death, but not anymore.

Ummm... if Leiter were a starter all season, I'd be willing to bet that he and Lima would've had a dogfight for the title of "Worst Starter in Major Leauge History." Leiter is horrible, no matter how you slice it.

Thats why hes a reliever now. Utilize whatever is left in that arm, without putting the whole game on his head.

No... he's a reliever now because... he sucks. And the Yankees have no lefty so they have to have someone fill up that slot.

5.51 ERA, 16.1 IP, 21 Hits, 6 BBs, .303 BAA
Milking what now?

But... you know that inherited runners don't count towards a pitchers ERA, right? So, if Jaret Wright loads the bases and then Leiter comes in and gives up a 3-run double, all 3 of those runs are charged to Wright. So, that 5.51 ERA is all Leiter and has nothing to do with coming in with runners on base.

Tell me something... do you ever chill out and relax and not take everything so seriously? Lieter might have shitty stats, but I trust him alot more than the absolute abomination that the Yankees are accustomed to in the bullpen.

Hah. I'm more laid back than anyone I've met. But, when someone says Al Leiter is good, my brain just goes into "What the fuckckckckck!?!?!" mode. I can't help it. After watching him for 2003 and 2004, and then seeing what he's done this year, how anyone can say he's even close to decent is beyond me. The Yankees would be better with someone from their minors, I'm sure. Wasn't that dude Sean Henn a lefty?
