If I would have mentioned these in 2001 (as we did in threads just like this one), nobody would have blinked an eye
but now if I mention those same tunes, it generates an uproar
Rank 1 - Airwave
Paul van Dyk - For an Angel
Tilt - Rondezvous(Paul van Dyk Quadraphonic remix)
Blank and Jones - Cream
Art of Trance - Breathe
slightly less controversial selections:
Jam and Spoon - Stella (this one gets lots of classification conflicts heh)
Salt Tank - Eugina

I guess you'd want to look for some of the most basic, bare-bones trance track then. Maybe Art Of Trance - Deeper Than Deep (Poltergeist Remix) or Cosmic Baby - Cosmic Cubes.

Or, just very good trance to me and not so very good trance to you. Tell me The World Doesn't Know is bastardized watered down and you have problems.

I have problems because I don't like the same stuff you do? Great thinking there.

energy 52 - cafe del mar 98 (3n1 mix). it builds like old-style trance, peaks like new-style trance, is known all over the world & adored by multiple generations. huzzahs all round.

There will always be arguments about this.
The trance that you guys seem to like (or only like it to look cool around here? (and I'm talking about the darker 90s stuff you clutch on)), isn't really so popular you see.
Instead we have a lot of people who like songs like the ones which DOOMBOT named. Ishkur might have been right here when he said Ferry Corsten (or Jam & Spoon or Robert Miles - doesn't even matter anymore) killed YOUR sort of trance.
The trance that the rest of us like is still very much going strong,
and people like to discuss it, ie. ASOT. Now if you wouldn't jump in threads saying it's watered down bastardized shit - the same as no one jumps in 'your threads', and instead show some respect for people's tastes, TA would be far more friendly place to hang around.
