You try telling Dave Clarke he's only allowed 3 decks. Or Derrick Carter. Or probably Adam Sheridan, even...

Of course it's over the top, that's the fun of it

You do realize the DJM 1000 is infact taking the place of xone's, and ranes rotary mixer(s) in clubs now?

Even though I do agree pioneer should stick to CDJ's and DVJ's, along with scratch mixers, not club/studio mixers.

Yeah, when it first came out I had no idea how well it would catch on... seen it installed for quite a few major events now

I wasn't saying it isn't true... but IMO, it IS sad... I still feel an X92 is a superior Mixer...

Yeah, the Xone 92 def. kills it. Why do you need 24/96 for vinyl? Vinyl is analogue

Where can you buy 24/96 wavs of the music you want to play? Where are you going to find 24/96 video? DVD's don't even have full quality audio.

Top DJ's might have some. But the less popular DJ's don't have 24/96 audio

Pioneer forgot to think about that.

And I definately don't think it's worth $3600

It's a DJM 600 with a midi controller, an extra channel, and digital domain mixing. It has the knobs of a DJM 909/707

It's actually a really good mixer. As we know, sound quality is awesome and although it doesn't have any built in effets, the fx loop system is really good so if you're desperate for your filters, take along a VF-1 and you're sorted, or an EFX-1000 if that's what floats your boat.

IMO that's the best way to do it - have a decent mixer with loads of control features (good cue system, total control over the crossfade curve, good aux and fx send/rtn system etc etc) then let the DJ decide what extra bits he/she wants by bringing along his favourite fx unit and plugging it in.

Everyone's a winner

Although it does only have 3 band eq... just have to live with it, I suppose!
