baseball news..

hudson street wins al rookie of the year
ryan howard wins nl rookie of the year ..

pretty weird how howard won, and wasn't a regular starter until after the all-star break ..

and francoeur got third, and was the same thing ..

as for hudson street, he deserved it, because he was lights out everytime he got to the mound .. and the guy's only 22, so he's got a long way to go .

Manny Ramirez to mets still alive?

Saw this article on ben maller's sports site
The Mets not only have interest in trading for Manny Ramirez, they also believe that the Red Sox outfielder has interest in playing for them. Recent reports have suggested that Ramirez does not want to play in New York and prefers to play for Anaheim, Arizona or Cleveland. A baseball source, however, said yesterday that the Mets have received indication that reports of Ramirez not wanting to play too close to his hometown may have been a smokescreen aimed at diverting attention from the Mets’ pursuit. Ramirez does have veto rights over any deal, so his consent is key. Now, the Mets are believed to be ready to deal directly with the Sox. The centerpiece of the deal, coming from the Mets’ side, would be center fielder Mike Cameron and two of the following three prospects: outfielder Lastings Milledge and right-handers Aaron Heilman and Yusmeiro Petit.

i'm getting tired of baseball trying to spawn more baseball news during the offseason by re-creating the 'steriods scandal story' ...

drop it please ... .. let's talk about something else .. like how come the number of latin america talent coming to the majors is on the slight decline ??

Uhhh... the minor leagues are filled with hispanic prospects.

But, I would assume that part of it has to do with at least half of the hispanic ball players having no concept whatsoever of the "walk."

Well done to Carpenter for winning the NL Cy Young. His stuff during the summer was awesome and I totally agree with the decision. I thought Clemens would have been closer but there ya go!

Mets are trying to deal for Aubrey Huff and Baez,i get the Baez part..but Huff is a subpar defensive player who plays 3 positions,i hope they are acquiring him to send to the red sox for manny.Wonder if they would take zambrano back and give us Kazmir .

and for a laugh we have an article link from smoking gun on palmeiro and speed

Looks like the Mets are about to overpay greatly for Billy wagner...whicjh i guess would mean the Baez/huff deal is dead...
in other news Matsui about to get a 4 year 50 mil. deal from Yanks and Nomar told by the Cubs to look for a differents fit.
Cubs and Nationals also rumored to be discussing a wilkerson for Corey patterson deal..i really hope the nationals won't pull this trade, wilkerson is going to be a stud

That is, of course, if Brad Wilkerson can strengthen his hitting performance. He has the power and the ability, he just stikes out a lot. If he can focus on hitting the ball, he could be a pitcher's threat next season.

I hope the deal doesn't go through either, but that's because i enjoy seeing the new faces of the Nationals here.
