Of course you would have varying definitions of what is or is not metrosexual. The important thing, however, is to identify what traits in what combination or abundance would lead one to judge another to be a metrosexual. Once one determines this then one knows the threshold (threshold meaning minimum requirements).

i agree to an extent but at the same time if we go to bangalore india, there would be nowhere near the acceptance level as there would be in say Los Angeles.

Yes. Chances are you would, and I'm not arguing that. The fact that there are differences isn't important.

Let's say the population you poll is TA, as this thread attempted to do befoe it was hijacked. Many members noted that metreosexuality is an adaptation of traits and actions generally associated with homosexuality in order to pick up women. Now, if you go over to www.gay.com/forums and ask the same question, you'll probably get a much different answer. So, all we've proven thus far is that different populations will give different answers. However, don't you think that some traits listed by TA and GAY would still be similar? You would definitely lose a few in the shuffle, but others would remain, maybe shrinking the list to 60, 20 or even 2% similar traits.

If you ask enough people, you'll eventually run out of similar traits. But I already noted that would happen when I said it's impossible to define anything acrooss the human spectrum. Maybe a more appropriate way to phrase the OPs question would have been: "What does TA (or the corE) define as metrosexuality". But let's be serious, how many people feel the need to include such an oft implied part of a question?

Clearly, a cultural norm can only apply to one culture and what is accepted in one culture is not necessarially going to fit with another, I don't think anyone would argue this point. Perhaps the idea of trying to gain a globally applicable diagnostic criteria for such a highly subjective term as Meterosexual is impractical. Moreover, it does not seem to be warrented since this practice seems to only be generic to economically advantaged urban based societies.
