as for me, I consider all interviews which I read as subjective. I often read reviews, mostly on trance.nu, and they are quite helpful to get a first impression of the CD, but that's it yet - not more, not less. I got in the past average rated albums and compilations, because it's all a matter of taste, interviews shouldn't be generalized therefore. I think this is the thing which PvD doesn't understand. rating a album automatically good, doesn't consequently mean that everybody goes crazy about this release..

i would think he'd be interested in talking about an honest review like that more in depth...

i guess there are politics of dancing and politics of worshiping his every move

thumbs down

well, i dont see the point in actually giving them an review of his album.. it is somewhat understandable that the rejected or rather canceled the interview based on the bad rating, as it would definitely be a bad PR for them to have an interview which links to a bad review of his compilation..

its like interviewing Puff Daddy and saying "your new album sucks man, anyways, how are things?"

especially with a person as van Dyk, which has a reputation for his arrogance..

6/10 is not a bad score. This isn't a poor record by any means, it's always listenable and very enjoyable at times. But it is underwhelming and certainly a dissapointment.

Another sign of the "OMFG!!!!1" culture that has taken over trance and progressive: everyone is the greatest new talent that started playing around with music at the age of 5, every track is 11/10, every radio show is the most awesomest!!! Everyone kisses the producers' asses to get benefits. This time you didn't, and of course the ego-inflated management thought such a behaviour wasn't acceptable.

It's a bit understandable that the producers are more likely to associate with the scene that actually likes their music. However, it's this kind of stuff that put trance even deeper in a shithole for the past couple years, and thrown progressive to the same situation.

He wasn't bashing Paul Van Dyk's new CD, he was simply giving a review of him. That really takes a lot of respect away from the mans personality.

I would have rated it a bit higher! but that's my a personal opinion. I think this is maybe not as good as many have expected, but it's definitely one album, which deserves to be on the top positions this year. and therefore I don't know if 6/10 is a suitable rating. this album is not worser than other albums this year, for example tiesto's or armin's album, what this poll shows: POLL. don't know, rating all these albums (from the poll) with 6/10 or less, would such rating represent the true quality of these albums? but it's, like I have said, a personal opinion, and such reaction from PvD or his management is simply misplaced.
