I'll second that coins are very useful for things like vending machines, for an istance say your stranded in the middle of nowhere, with out your mobile and theres a pay phone, not everyone carries phone cards so coins can come in very handy, also I like it when you go out for the night come back and wake up in the morning then you think 'fuck how much did I trash last night' you took out £70 then you look in your trouser pockets and as you lift the trousers it feels very heavy and you count your money and you end up with £30 in coins not very great but still I think I have a habit of spending notes too much lol like their on fire or something.
Back to the Euro some very good points you all made there, Yes I'm very patriotic about somethings and I think being an invidual and being differents good because its what made the Brits - Brits, Germans - Germans, Irish - Irish, and the French - French, and so on, varities good.
By all means I might change my mind when I see the euro working, but I still feel very skeptical about it all. I still look upon it with a cultural and patriotic prespective though, but I think its great to see how well countries can work togther, and put the cultural boundaries down and put history behind themselves, especially when there was a major war raging across Europe just over half a century ago.
I think though Sir Lunchalot on what you said about a United States Of Europe I don't support that theory, as I've said before having an identity is a great thing, I think it can help people relate with eachother in a way, and it has the benefits of teaching people to respect others cultures and lifestyle, also it has good learning aspect that we can all learn things from one another. Also unfortunatly though not theres still some old fashioned and harsh nationalist attitudes in some countries, it exists here for certain in a minority of people, xenophobic views still exist in every country in Europe maybe time might sort that problem out. Theres the Heritige aswell I'm sure everyone here in proud of their heritige, unification though will make that heritige die, Europes got a big and facasnating history and I think to some extent thats what makes us different and thats great I know like it sounds like I'm isolating all Europeans, but we must know are pasts and who we are, I think theres nothing wrong with people wanting to unite, but still aswell as the cultural problems you'd have the hassle of people not liking it, laws deciding on them, and language barriers making 2 official languages might be a good idea, but what about the languages that aren't in them two official ones, fair enough people will speak them, but I'm sure people in nations will kick off over having to learn and pick up new languages, plus when I go abroad I actually make an attempt in some countries I've been, to learn some of that countries language.
Thor great point about the queen I'm very anti royal and I don't enjoy seeing that horrible face. hahaha . Also your point on the UK joining the Euro I'm sure we will eventually join it over here, I think the government here is planning to watch how it benefits the rest of Europe and if it does I'm sure the UK will join, like theres a lot articles in the Newspapers about the Euro so the media seems to be looking into the Ups and downs of Euro and try to make the British public more open minded towards it, also I think people seeing the Mark joining and help pioneering the Euro as a point to join aswell because of the strength it had.
This is very a good debate guys keep it up
