Would love to comment on the state of Tiesto circa 2005 but all we in southern California had this year was the TIC show in LA.

Ah no way.

The last couple of years we could count on several club appearances per year. None this year in southern California or San Francisco.

The few 2005 live sets I've heard were so-so. But I did and still love ISOS4 cd2.

same with oakenfold... he's hanging on by his past when he truly was great, and all you sheep are STILL buying it

Sheep? Wow, that's a bit insulting. I've been into trance since the late 90s, and EDM for the past 23 years.. even when it wasn't "cool".

Yeah, I'm a sheep alright. I have hair past my ass, and have a record collection spawning 25 years of dance music. I really follow trends

are you going to parties to dance and have a good time or do you just stand next to the dj booth and look up to your hero?

I don't know if it's in print, but I read in the NY forum that it was on Sirius.

did you ever listened to ISOS 1-3 ?

That were true masterpieces of trance with a great track selection and superb mixing.

ISOS 4 has too many average tracks and the mixing is a joke...

There's a WORLD of difference between puting a mix on TA and playing live to a 20'000 person crowd.

Anyway, that's one of the main reasons I liked Tiesto's sets too, because you NEVER knew what he was gonna play next. Instead of looking for that perfect track that would mix perfectly with the previous one, he played tracks that complimented the previos one. Either having similar sounds, or keeping you on the same level or bringing you to the next level. It was outstanding to hear him play tracks that made the crowd feel his vibe. Who really cares about the mixing... BECAUSE HE HAD THE TRACKS!!! REPEAT.... HAD!!!

Now that I think about it, maybe that's why everyone feels Tiesto's gone downhill, cause he doesn't provide the tracks he used to. Everyone plays every track now, he used to be the only one to play certain tracks. And you can thank digital technology for that change. Both for the good (the rise of up and coming DJ's) and the bad (the fall of Tiesto)... yayaya flame away with that one, we've all heard it before but nonetheless, it's the cold hard truth why Tiesto doesn't get the respect anymore... cause everyone plays what Tiesto would play.

If these die-hard-tiesto-fans would stop chanting "tiesto! Tiesto! Tiesto!" during his sets and listen to his music they would understand why the rest of the world don't like Tiesto anymore...
