Re: Re: Tiësto is one of the most underrated DJs on TA

Call it whatever you want man, but if any other DJ than Tiesto would mix like that, people would just say his mixing is crappy as hell.
Heck, if I'd put a mix online here with that kind of mixing, people would be all over me saying that I needed to improve my beatmatching skills and that I mixed way too roughly, and they'd probably even say that my trackselection was too random and not very logical most times.

There's a WORLD of difference between puting a mix on TA and playing live to a 20'000 person crowd.
Anyway, that's one of the main reasons I liked Tiesto's sets too, because you NEVER knew what he was gonna play next. Instead of looking for that perfect track that would mix perfectly with the previous one, he played tracks that complimented the previos one. Either having similar sounds, or keeping you on the same level or bringing you to the next level. It was outstanding to hear him play tracks that made the crowd feel his vibe. Who really cares about the mixing... BECAUSE HE HAD THE TRACKS!!! REPEAT.... HAD!!!
Now that I think about it, maybe that's why everyone feels Tiesto's gone downhill, cause he doesn't provide the tracks he used to. Everyone plays every track now, he used to be the only one to play certain tracks. And you can thank digital technology for that change. Both for the good (the rise of up and coming DJ's) and the bad (the fall of Tiesto)... yayaya flame away with that one, we've all heard it before but nonetheless, it's the cold hard truth why Tiesto doesn't get the respect anymore... cause everyone plays what Tiesto would play.
