There is a big sound quality difference btw an LP and a single. It's also harder to "see" the song in the grooves of an LP. And the songs on LPs tend to not be as DJ-friendly. There are exceptions, of course. As when an LP is split into 4 records or so, especially for DJs. Then, it's the same as playing a single.
