its not TOTALLY soundproof, but Freak is right. when u turn down the monitors in there, there's seriously almost NO sound from the club system that comes in. but then if u are popular enough, of course u have all the crowd people in that little window yelling in your face though. :P
what it is though i think, the dj booth there is built like a tank (and as small as one too). all ambient sound from the dancefloor is not directed at the booth and therefore almost no reflections come into the booth itself. that window to the crowd is quite small, and is covered up by the monitors anyway. (to clarify, i've never played there but i've stood in the booth during an armin set)
anyway, seems like this dj challenge was a good idea! i'll have to give it a shot once i re-buy some decks and monitors.
