Come on guys at least you were there! Would be even sadder if you weren't...People talk about the oldskool ta days as if theyre war verterans or something. But it pains me when i see threads like this as reminds me that i've missed out on the glory days - and those days are never going to return. My one regret in life.

Lets face it, a huge proportion of the board has moved on. It was decent trance and good trance clubs that brought the board together. Everyone felt like they were part of something, and part of something they were! It wasnt just about the music, and for most parts the music was a background noise at a place where I was having fun with a group of people I really got on with.

I am glad that I was part of it, and I feel sorry for those who missed out on it, because IMO it will NEVER be re-created the way that it was.

aye 2003 was rather mint

for me personally full time work and a full time girlfriend rather limit my time for me, and the clubs today dont play the music i like

i guess we can all look back at the positives ukta provided and go

fucking great to see ya here mate, even if it's only for a post like this

my take on it all, may ramble a bit, my heads a bit messed up still but here goes

ok so back in 1997 maybe, there were many good compilations coming out, stuff like BBE & Brainbug was helping us develop a musical liking & by 1999-2000 this peaked, with the popularity, not only from us who liked the music but those who followed trends as ours was now cool.

5 years later, America is experiencing the same boom, dj's can make more & sell out more by playing to these people who aren't fed up with seeing the same names, stale sounds & the likes. The newer watered down pop-style trance suits their ears and they are now having the same big times as we are. 2 out of every 3 regular new posters probably come from north america or Australia or other countries. TA used to spread from word of mouth when the people met each other each week & was the way they could keep in contact, now as the nights die out, and as our generation (those of us moving into the 20s etc) mature (sometimes in tastes, sometimes just not being able to do the same things due to commitments) our perspectives change on life in general. As many people know my problems i don't need to list them, but i've hosted a couple of nights & sure it probably wasn't great fun for everyone but i got to meet these like minded people & I really enjoyed that, i missed out on the whole clubbing boom, but I still know a lot about the music & I'm grateful for that.

Going back to the trends set, we've all seen the popular ones move on, either to house, funky house, progressive, techno, tech-house or whatever, but a lot of us have still stuck to our roots, sure that leaves us exposed as a group & in a minority & I think that shows in the lack of posting.

2 very different communities though. a city of a million people compared to a whole country where we all live a long way apart & dont have good travel links to make regular meets, nor the talent playing to make them sppealing. you weren't around back then so you won't know so much but the ukta were great, as were nlta
