I don't think that you can get a record deal easily with Fruityloops, Reason or Sonic Syndicate Orion only. All of those programs has flaws but I think Reason is after all the best prog. for making those quality tracks. Proficient person can make some awesome stuff with Fruityloops also and what comes to Orion, I've heard some awful stuff made with it but I personally think that Orion is awesome and that's why I bought it, only 99$ .
The biggest problem in Reason is that it doesn't support VST-Instruments, that's why I would choose fruityloops. Orion has the best VST-Instrument support but It's also pretty hard to make songs with it cos' it runs out of memory soon if you import lot's of synths.
So I recommend this: use Reason if you think you don't need extra plugins, VST:s etc. The program itself has very good synth generators and pads/string sounds but still not quite good enough, atleast for me.Reason has clearly the best own sound bank of these three softwares and I've heard that Brian Transeau himself praised this program.
Fruityloops is awesome choice also. It's easy to use and you can make great sounding sawleads, warm sounding pads and solid strings with it. It also supports VST:s and I know a one very famous trance song where Fruityloops has been used a lot. Still I hardly ever use Fruityloops' own samples but I do make strings/pads and some loops with it.
If you demand good sounding delays, reverbs, trancegate and phaser sounds from a software, go buy Orion. It also provides excellent sounding leads if you learn to use Wavedream. I think it's the best software Synth Generator ever made.
If you love acid sounds then Orion is must because its TB303 bassline generator is awesome. IMO it beats ReBirth and Fruityloops can't get even close in 303 sounds. Orion also has the best sampler ever made in software. Of course it can't beat the professional samplers like Halion but if you import good quality wav-samples in Orion sampler, you can make really awesome things with it. It would be nice to demonstrate you with some sound examples but I've got really bad experiences of attaching samples so I won't bother . Also Orion's VSTi:s support is excellent, sometimes it's just a bit buggy but updates has usually fixed the problems. Orion lacks in strings and pads sounds and it doesn't have sample banks at all but all the Orion
synth generators are high-quality and if you have good sample CD:s, you can just import the waves to Orion sampler.
So I quess I'm just trying say that use the program that works best for you .For me it's the Sonic Syndicate Orion but it's just the matter of taste (and maybe price .
p.s don't use ejay progs. They are just cheating and you will not develope as a producer if you use them. For a beginner I'd like to suggest FastTracker 2, it's free but I quess tracking times are past these days. FT2 has been a very demanding but excellent teacher and I would not be where I am now without it .
