International trend experts have said that 2006 will see the fall the hip-hop. This year was an absolute overkill with a slew of worthless releases with no life/originality whatsoever.
Trance will continue to blend and hybridize with alternative genres of which I think the highlight will be trance and psy. J00F have been doing it for a while but there will be more creativity and talent at work courtesy Discover Dark.
I hope to see other interesting twists along the lines of electro-tribal-trance. No doubt, Spinnin Records shall address this issue and hopefully, not dissapoint.
John Askew and crew are going to get bigger and better with lots of exciting projects in the pipeline for Discover and Discover Dark esp. Greg Downey,Sean Tyas,Airbase and of course, JOC.
Randy Katana's resurrected Jinx Records shall also hopefully deliver some interesting material.
Sander Van Doorn shall single-handedly DOMINATE throughout all of next year.
Mark Sherry shall emerge as one of the key players in the hard trance/hard dance scene. He has been HUGE this year and can only get bigger.
Lastly, I'll be keeping my eye on Henry and Mathias(Stoneface & Terminal). The duo have had some inconveniences in the past whilst working with Alex and I think the recent alliance with Ronski Speed shall deliver some real stormers.
All in all, not a bad year for 2005, let's see what 2006 has in store for all of us.
