its not something i have 'just' realised.. it is something that i felt should be explained, or pointed out rather, due to the question being raised about the state of trance in melbourne.
i ask people this.. how are we supposed to unite melbourne's uneducated people and bring them to our side to support us, when fcuk me, we cant even support ourselves!!!! our little catty community is part of the problem to begin with... it annoys the hell out of me, because with me, what you see is what you get... i will support someone who is doing better then me, or who is getting gigs that i am not getting, because it is all in the name of the scene progressing, which ultimately will benefit me eventually too..
too many cheifs, not enough indians, and some of the people who consider themselves cheifs treat the indians like shit and the resentment builds.. the people at the top of this so called internal food chain, need to realise they're no better then the people who are buying or selling the tickets to fill the clubs.. they need to pull their heads out of their arses and get real.. otherwise this really all will be a TA forum posting community and nothing else!!!
everyone who might possibly think this could relate to them, dont dismiss it.. consider the fact that it probably does, and take it on board.. because your attitude could change things.. even just a little bit!!

That's me in the corner, That's me in the spotlight, I'm Losing my religion, Trying to keep up with you ,And I don't know if I can do it, Oh no, I've said too much,I haven't said enough, I thought that I heard you laughing, I thought that I heard you sing, I think I thought I saw you try.
But that was just a dream, That was just a dream, But that was just a dream, Try, cry, why try? That was just a dream ,Just a dream, just a dream, Dream

this is very true.
if i had a dollar for every time i'd attempted to work with or get to know (personally or professionally) someone on this forum only to be f'd off, disinvited, ignored, have them run off with my girlfriend, etc, i'd have enough money to buy a toupee.
I wonder how many other people like me come along full of enthusiasm and energy, running from one person to the next saying 'yo, want my help? what can i do? anything at all man, let me help you succeed because i like what you're doing!' just to be told 'no man, I don't need your help, thanks'.
Trance isn't dead, guys, I play my Anjunabeats and Euphonic records to full dancefloors for money almost every weekend, and I know from the feedback I get from punters that there's still plenty who love to hear it when its presented the right way.
If this scene is dead, its because those of you who chose not to open your eyes to new ideas and new blood killed it with the mistaken idea that you didn't need the help of those of us (and I'm speaking for a few on here I know) who were willing to offer constructive criticism, feedback and assistance. And that's a shame.

okay considering that i am relatively new to these boards and what has been going on i am not going to comment about the rivalry and so forth that soups and a few others mentioned.
something i will comment on is this; so many times i have heard people say that they are sick of the formulaic trance being produced these days and that more classics should be played from the glory days of trance. why is this not happening? when the top dj's come out they play classic songs and the crowds go nuts, a perfect example of this was BT at godskitchen.
