I think two is a lot harder to hear which track is faster/slower, but it's a lot easier to get perfectly accurate when your bringing in the track.

Yeah but isn't the whole point to be able to hear which track is faster or slower in the headphones before anyone else does, so you can make the appropriate corrections? I think so.

that's just it. i learned on the one ear method, but as soon as i got used to the little channel fader cue thingy on that shitty mixer and having bad or no monitors, i switched to 2 ear.

no i can zero in on my track in less than 30 seconds if i have a cue pan/fade/whatever knob on the mixer. if i have to go one ear, takes me way more, and i dont seem to be as spot-on.

That's what I said... when I meant bring in the track, I meant hit play or release the record... before you actually bring it into the mix.

That's the point though, you need to practice one ear until you CAN do it in seconds and very accurately, because there are a lot of mixers still out there without advanced cueing.
