thats true, a well known fact. since wav files are digital, they dont suffer from wear, like vinyls do. but the groove in a vinyl is like a combination of (co)sinus, and a wav file is digital, where that (co)sinus track is mastered into little pieces. (im dutch, i dont know the right english words to explain this 100% clear for those who dont understand me, sorry for that) .. anyway, the smaller those pieces the better the wav starts to look like a real vinyl groove/(co)sine, but it will never get the same 'looks' ... for those who are english, and know what i mean, please try to explain my thoughts a bit better, since this might be a bit vague to those who dont understand me
