The scariest part is that it could be true for all we know. My friend was telling me about the back drop for the story. The director (I forget his name, but he did Cape Fear), had come across a website in Thailand or something where you could pay to torture people, and people in Thailand were selling their kids to this place to make money. He was going to do a documentary on it, but who would admit to something like that? Who knows if it was real or not... |
I read about that in Eye Magazine I think. He wanted to do that doc. but was afraid that if he went too far he'd get killed himself, so he did Hostel instead.
