The goverment closes many of those much needed care facilies for the "mentally troubled" back in the 90's and basically threw many of these people out on the street, and when their meds run out it's not pretty...

Cabbagetown is full of 'em too. I loved sitting on my porch and watching the regular entertainment.

Mr. Bum Face. This guy in Cabbagetown who asks everyone for a smoke. And his face is all squinched up. I remember one time (in band camp) we threw a finished cigarette on the street, and he came by just in time to grab it.

I'll never forget his face all squinched up taking a drag, his swollen, drooling lips endclosing around it.

"can I have a sip?" he shouts as the unsuspecting traveller looks up at him in shock. I sit in the back chuckiling to myself sipping my coffee just waiting for him to ask me. He asks, I offer... to pour it into his hands... he accepts my kind offer. I pour. Squilly I love you. Anyone have any to share? And for the politcally minded: What should we do as a society to help these people?

You're a f*kin' genius!! ahahaha, honestly, we must hang out at some point once again.
as to my neighbourhood, it's fairly good. almost tooo good. some of the stories I hear about other people's areas are just so hard to believe, Ive been living here long enough, we always have neighbourhood family BBQ's and all that jazz in the summertime, no one complains about noise.. it's been a good ride thus far!
