So it's not a cd player but a mixer. I guess it was time for an upgrade to the djm-600.

any new word on the supposed cd players? people around here were saying there's a mk3 out...any idea when it could possibly be unveiled (ie, any big music conferences coming up real soon?)

djdeals.com says the mkII is backordered nationwide until February, and their price for it jumped to $1149. I emailed them and tried to ask if they would be running their low price again when they had them back in stock. Their reply: they think it's discontinued.

If it is discountinued then I wonder if they are indeed going to release a new player, either the MKIII or the CDJ-2000. I'm glad I got my CDJ-1000 MK2s when I did in July of last year at Guitar Center.

when i typed "cdj1000 mk2 discontinued" into google last week, the first result was from djdeals.com saying it had been discontinued. i followed the link but it had already changed from discontinued to backordred til feb.

i'm kind of inclined to take djdeals seriously since they were the first to break (without pioneer's permission) the release of the 600/800...

Yes I know that it says backordered until Feb. on their website. But I emailed them yesterday, asking them if they will be running a lower price than $1149 when they get the back in stock in February. Their reply: "We think it's discontinued." I take them seriously, but I simply don't know what story to believe here.

There was talk of people seeing it at a show in Austrailia.. and some Auzzie retails had a look at it, but apparently they were recalled? I guess it was supposed to be relaesed at NAMM but looks like it wont be for a while...

I guess i jumped the gun when i said it was coming out at namm.. i guess we just have to wait and see..

Ha, but whatever. I just ordered a CDJ-1000 from a nice dealer (authorized) who got me $929, shipping included. He only had two left!

Now I have two!
