You just need to stop letting it get to you. And if you fuck up a take, the best thing to do is do it again right after.. If you fuck up two takes, take some time. If you really need a killer set recorded for a promoter or whatever and recording isn't your thing, plan a good 3 or 4 hours to get that shit down.

I stand by what I said about the beers, they may help loosen some of you up.

Slightly off topic but, what's the best way to record onto your computer so you can make a CD. I've just been recording using a tape deck and would like to start recording to my comp...

the problem for me basically is, after a good half hour of spinning good, i start to wander a bit, cuz i don't have any response. after i cue my next track up, i seem to space out a bit. when i'm infront of people, i'm focused on delivering the most enjoyable sound i can to them. i look for the reactions, look at the hot girls, and so on. in my room, i just keep debating in my head if this tune is wicked enough, if that last mix was out of place, if it was out of key, maybe it was too late, maybe it was too early.... bla bla i fuck up the next mix.

or, sometimes im just tired of spinning those same tracks because this is the fucking 3rd take and i'm tired of it!!! heh

I still haven't put out a single demo CD, so it is a good thing demo CDs don't count for beans when it comes to getting booked. You know promoters just throw them in the trashcan.

while only 1/100 promoters actually listen to your CD, theres always those somewhat admired music heads in the scene that know everyone, and are at every party in the VIP booth (at least in this scene). one word from their mouths about an up and coming DJ and all promoters will fight over him. some even throw smaller, mor private events, where some promoters sometimes go to, being friends with them and all.

however, these people actually know their music. word of mouth has gotten some interested in listening to me, so i got offered to put a set on a local website for public listen. i am hell bent on making it as clean and perfect as possible, hence my problem.

Yeah word of mouth is awesome. That's why I don't need no stinking Demo CDs. Of course they're always nice to give out at the end of the night to patrons of the venue you're at.

I make demos to share the love, if anything happens because of it, thats just gravy.
