Obviously, you've never watched ultimate fighting. The winners are usually wrestlers or brazilian jiu jitsu specialists, not karate or taekwando.

Dude, BJJ = brazilian jujitsu.

BJJ > wrestling for the reason I stated above.

If you're talking about normal greco-roman wrestling, you don't get taught submission. They have to combine with other martial arts or fighting systems to learn to finish the fight.

Perfect example is Josh Koscheck. Awesome wrestler, but don't know how to finish. See Koscheck vs Fickett.

Right on that one. Next time, don't use abriviations. BJ usually stands for blow job.

true that.

i really hope that ill never fight again but i was told that i have one of "those" faces so....

i got jumped on my b-day in 2003, whole place was beating me up i bullshit you not. thats what saved me, there was so many people trying to get a free shot at me that nobody could get a good one till somebody get an idea to start hitting me with bottles and chairs. im sure if i fell to the ground i would be dead.

got 9 stitches, cracked skull and cracked jaw and i lost sight in my left eye for 7 days.

but it was not all that that changed me, some time after that i saw a guy who started it all, went after him and horror that i saw in his face made me realise that i dont wanna be like that.

i would rather be making sweet sweet love than fight

Well, contrary to the popular belief that ALL martial artists and those who train are out to scour the world like street fighter to prove something. Most practitioners I know including myself are the nicest most laid back guys I know. Take even some of the World Champions or good fighters {Minus the UFC, because UFC is populated with a bunch of hillbillies and old farts that need to know when to retire..*cough* shamrock). Fighters like Bas Rutten, Ernesto Hoost, Remy Bonjasky, Mirko Crocop. They're friendly people. I've actually met chuck liddell myself and he was a joker.

That being said. I've been training my entire life since the age of 6. First taking Karate, then moving over to Chinese Kung Fu, to kickboxing, then back to Chinese Kung Fu. We now train in an environment very similar to fight club. Since we refuse to pay rent to some bastard, we train in a warehouse without heat surrounded by packaged Hello Kitty Dolls which are sold for $34.99 @ pacific mall. After school perhaps I might want to take it amateur. I have the skill, just need to dedicate more time into training to make my body a can of whoopass machine.

But in my entire lifetime. I have never gotten into a street fight. It just isn't worth it, in a club u don't know how many friends he has; on the street you don't know what he's packing; and you almost always have to deal with the cops in the end, so I usually just back down, my life is not worth proving to a moron that I can step on his face. However I got into one scrap in grade 5 where I was beating down this grade 6 (which was like the ultimate challenge at the age of 11), then got hauled down and suspended by this fat lady who came out of no where. Thus i will dedicate my future to becomming a ninja.

well, the thing with that is. Wrestlers know how to move on the ground, nothing else. They can't submit, they can't punch if they were given brass knuckles, and majority of them don't even do well in a world class competition. Take pride for example, Carlos Newton fought a couple times and then fell off the map. BJJ is a different example. Their training is almost specifically geared to MMA, and to those rules specifically. But change the trournament rules. I don't think Wanderlei Silva (as great of a fighter as he is) would survive long in the K-1 Arena.

Thats my 2 cents.
