Yeah, if the "independent" producers were talented and tried to do something different it could end up good, but instead they all just try to copy the trance-equivalent of Hollywood (ASOT) as close as possible.

Besides, the cost of making music isn't exactly 0.. if you're one of the very few that actually buy a copy of Reason.

Trance is changing into this wierd elctro/soft prog hybrid. Big full on driving melodic tracks are very rare these days. The synths are getting less tweaked out, builups less prominent and everything sounds like it has this coating of vaseline on it. Kinda wierd, but thats the way its heading for now it seems?? Fuck knows why

In my opinion all corners of trance are quite stable, and I'm enjoying them. Although I've only started being a hardcore trance fan in the past year, so maybe in a few years I'll be saying its getting worse too.
