And what it looked like in the end...

The top i did on my own and don't actually have any plans of it. I just cut out a design after i measured out where the 1210's legs would be sitting. I wanted to see some of the beige leatheret(spelling?) so i designed it to peek out at the front of the table.

I then need to secure the black covered mdf bored onto the beige "pillowed" top of the table. So i used mirror screws, a screen which has a screw at the top which you screw the shiny semi-sphere balls into.

All it all i'm really happy with it, though the paint job looks good it needs to be sealed better as anything that is dragged along the shelves leaves a slight white mark, which rubs away and turns back into black.

I had further designs to make beige and black contrast side boards. And if i was to have the table in a 'playing out' towards the crowd position i might have done some design on the back of the table as well.

So yeh, as i said i'll have a look for the actual solidworks files. But that's all i can find at the moment.

Any comments/or questions, or improvement tips are more than welcome..

wow that's great! so you used particle board? I actually just came back from the home depot looking what type of wood they had. I was going to use oak, but if particle board might work. I believe i found my answer to the Rising CDJ problem as well.

Ok work with me here... i'm macgyvering this crap

even had to put my mullet on

things you need to put up 1 CDJ. All the pipes of course are either black or white.

*1 x 3" black plumbing PVC pipe ($4.99 for 24" pipe)
*1 X woodboard big enough for a CDJ
*1 x 3" opening PVC 22 1/2 degree bend pipe.


*2 x 3" opening, toliet bowl Flush-Fit Closet Flange ($3.99 each)
pretty much how it looks like.


1.connect and glue one end of the pipe to the toliet bowl flange.
2. Connect and the other end to the 22.5 deg bend pipe
3. Connect the other end of the 22.5 deg bend pipe to the other toliet bowl flange.
4. bolt down the side with the bend to the CDJ wood and bolt the other end to the table.

I know this will be very sturdy and does not look bad at all. My plan is to be able to hide bottom piece of the flange under second layer of wood.

if you don't have the right tools, particle board can be a real bxtch to work with....

yes, but one cost less then $25, the other shipping alone will probably cost that!

I like your idea orbital. I'd nearly be tempted to find some cheap enough metal for the pole. Then drill some holes in the side of the toilet (base part) And through into the pipe to give it that extra bit of security.

Other then that, i like the idea. As an alternative of course, only thing i'd be worried about is that your 1000's of dollars are being kept up by some cheapish pipe. Not only that but if they fall they fall on another few k of equipment (obviously assuming you have nice gear)..

Anyway, looks good i like your diagrams!

The wood i used was MDF, worked well but i treated it before i painted it as it would otherwise just soak up the pain. Don't let any water get near MDF or it'll just go soggy on you!

while the pipe is literally cheap, that 3" pipe is not going to break. espceially if you glue the ends with Epoxy...that glue can can be rated up to 2500PSI!!! it will have not problem holding down the CDJ-1000's. Again bolt down the the pipes not screw it down for more security. but if you can find a metal pipe that would be good i would like that too!

Someones has got to make one of those and post some pics, looks like a realy good idea.

ok here is a rough draft what i want:

the top view is basically what i want. The side view is still working on it. Instead of breaking down into 3 compartments, i might just go too. The top view has dashes, that's where it's going to be a cut to put the top cover on easier over the mixer and turntables. Any suggestions or comments?
