I live near leicestershire (well about 1km from the border) but It's pretty widespread these days in the uk. I don't like most cheeses but I do this

maybe you don't get the same quality/flavour ham as us, but a good ham needs absolutely nothing added

Dunno about the sweet rolls but horseradish is definatly a good way to go. Or even just a little mustard (probebly wholegrain). As Ian said, onions instead can be good but the gotta be thin slices. It is a nice clean taste though.

As for the pretend cheese.
