Personally I wouldn't go the PCV-180, having seen and fiddled with one I don't rate it, especially considering it doesn't have level meters (from hazy memory). VMC-002 getting a bit long in the tooth now.

I'd be saying either the Numark (haven't used it but it looks like it'd be half decent), or the Denon which you just know is gonna be quality. I don't really like the Numark's knobs, they have that big chunky plastic feel which I really don't like and are also set horizontally not vertically, another thing I don't like. I also think the faders are a bit short.

Having said that, I haven't even seen a Denon in the metal, but I'm working by a process of elimination and reputation of the DNX.

All that is left for you to do is to go to where your buying it from and have a play with these two mixers (denon and numark).
Basicaly you have the denon that will most likely be more reliable then the numark in the long run but the numark has efx.
I recomend you try to take in as least amount of info from biast opinions and try absorb the real info but that is kinda hard to do on TA.

The biggest downside for the Denon is the lack of any kill switches for the EQ :/

I forgot to add some pics for visual purposes:

Numark DXM06 ($280CAN) > 12 effects!

Vestax VMC-002 ($190CAN)

Vestax PCV-180 ($250CAN)

Denon DN-X100 ($250CAN) > No kills :/

Kills are over rated and can be over used. I have kills, since I own the 06 and don't use them. I suppose if you spin other genres then Trance they come in handy though.

I saw one of your own threads and you were having a dilemma between the Denon and the Numark as well I'm just tossing 2 Vestax models in there to make it interesting

And ironically I was worried whether I would need kills or not. Now that I have them, I dont even use them!

Ahh, that's why I was confused. Well, $400, anyway.

I would still pick either Vestax over the Numark or Denon. Those don't even register as possible choices to me. They are great choices, however, if you don't care about quality or reliablility.

If you want something that lasts and has quality sound, go Vestax. If you don't then don't. Just don't be blinded by extra features. Just think, all of those extra features! Wow! Those must be really quality, because they bring the price all the way up to a... basic Vestax. Go with a Vestax, you won't be sorry.

The Denon is low in quality and reliability?

IMO, their mixers, yeah.

But I like their higher-end CD players. I still can't figure out why anyone would want a spinning jogdial, though.

I think I may end up getting a Vestax PCV-275 (used) from a fellow TA now!

Hopefully he gets back to me soon!
