Well ok, here goes... you know how sound travels in waves, now that analogue wave represents the clearest sound you're ever gonna hear... ok so lets say we take one sine wave, i can't draw it so i'm gonna assume you know what it looks like, and to transfer that wave into digital (ie. cd, mp3...) we have to convert it to 0's and 1's... so to do that we split that one wave into sections, and you go step by step, one section by another, and if let's say one section has a part of a wave that is on a downward slope, you say it's a 0, and an upward slope, you say it's a 1, and so on and so on till you convert it all... so there you go, now you have one wave in sets of 0's and 1's... now this is where the loss occurs, in this conversion of sections, cuz you can't never ever never ever never (NEVER ) have a digital sound as clear as crisp as good as analogue... ok i hope this essay hasn't confused anyone, if it has, leave a post if you want me to go over anything again...

One more question about CD-Decks. Does the Loop and Re-loop functions are really important. Cause I don't know if this feature is strictly a cd thing or if you can do it with regular TT (not CD-DECKS), well if I am to feel like a DJ do I really need that?
I am asking this because the CdJ-100s doesn't have the loop funtion much less re-loop, so I am thinking that maybe it is worth saving a little more for a 500A Pioneer CDJ???

well that loop can come in really handy! if for example you're the openning dj, and the club is really empty, and don't want to start spinin just yet, you select a loop and let it run for a whiles... this is just one example... there's a million others... and you can do it on tt's too, well not on tt's but on the mixer... my mixer has a sampler and a loop function, so i can do the same thing with my tt's... is it worth saving up for? meh, dunno... maybe it is

If you have to stay on a tight budget, get the CDJ-30's, but if you can get the CDJ-100S's.. GET THEM
the difference is very big with the effects and quality between the units.
Even if you have to get used CDJ-100's.. they would be better than new CDJ-30's

Seamless Loop is for marking a point in front or behind where the song is currently playing then pressing a button to seamlessly play from your designated point...
in other words if you havent cued your next track up and the song is going to finish, you can extend the current song so that you have more time for you to cue up..

BTW, the CDJ-30's are nice units, but i would still go the CDJ100s

seamless loop sounds cool. So if say the crowd are really enjoying a track and you want to play over the good bit again, this is a good way to do it?

Thing is, won't it take quite a lot of skill so that there isn't a sudden jump and it blends in?

Monkey Dancer 2 Cue points and seamless loop

Shouldn't I be worried the same way about regular TTs?

Is it really that easier to mix with TTs than with Cd-decks?

I personally think that cd players kick ass. Buying vinyl is a bitch, especially in the states since hard house/trance is only big in the major cities. You can get mp3's for free and they sound just fine. I have two pioneer cdj1000's and they can hang with tt's anyday. You can scratch on them too! Buy pioneer, they make the best cd players, hands down.

MP3s

How do you go about putting MP3s onto a CD? Do you need a CD rewriter?

Also, how many MP3s can you fit onto a CD?

One last thing. Would the sound quality of MP3s be acceptable when playing in front of a crowd at a small venue?

First u convert the MP3s into WAV files using an MP3 decoder , of course u need a cd writer , and you can fit 74 or 80 minutes of music in a CD (it depends on how long the tracks are , if all the tracks are 10 minutes long , then u can put 8 tracks in a 80 minutes CD).

Yes the sound quality is acceptable but i still think owning the original CD is WAAAAAAAAAAAY better
