Well ok, here goes... you know how sound travels in waves, now that analogue wave represents the clearest sound you're ever gonna hear... ok so lets say we take one sine wave, i can't draw it so i'm gonna assume you know what it looks like, and to transfer that wave into digital (ie. cd, mp3...) we have to convert it to 0's and 1's... so to do that we split that one wave into sections, and you go step by step, one section by another, and if let's say one section has a part of a wave that is on a downward slope, you say it's a 0, and an upward slope, you say it's a 1, and so on and so on till you convert it all... so there you go, now you have one wave in sets of 0's and 1's... now this is where the loss occurs, in this conversion of sections, cuz you can't never ever never ever never (NEVER ) have a digital sound as clear as crisp as good as analogue... ok i hope this essay hasn't confused anyone, if it has, leave a post if you want me to go over anything again...
| quote: | One more question about CD-Decks. Does the Loop and Re-loop functions are really important. Cause I don't know if this feature is strictly a cd thing or if you can do it with regular TT (not CD-DECKS), well if I am to feel like a DJ do I really need that?
I am asking this because the CdJ-100s doesn't have the loop funtion much less re-loop, so I am thinking that maybe it is worth saving a little more for a 500A Pioneer CDJ??? |
well that loop can come in really handy! if for example you're the openning dj, and the club is really empty, and don't want to start spinin just yet, you select a loop and let it run for a whiles... this is just one example... there's a million others... and you can do it on tt's too, well not on tt's but on the mixer... my mixer has a sampler and a loop function, so i can do the same thing with my tt's... is it worth saving up for? meh, dunno... maybe it is
