why do people waste their time worrying about who produces what? Its good music in the end right? Then again its a matter of taste.

That doesn't mean i have to like it?

Its obviously fashionable to use the Andy Moor TM soundbank... but i can't stand that twinkle fodder- whatever its called.

My point wasn't made in dis-taste or even to weigh in my (unfounded) opinion on the matter... but more to see if Harding was truthful. Is he actually going to take critique from here on board and actually make something that sounds good? or what?

Seems to me like he is just kissing ass in this thread. To try and make the problem go away. The problem being another one of those "found out" producers who don't give the hired help credit... whether they have requested it or not.

There is no problem with getting some help, or having sound technicians, but now Niklas is getting bookings and making a name for himself through those productions, it would be nice if some of the fame went to the unsung hero thats all.

To be fair, having a track on armada hardly catches promoters eyes

Ive had a few listens to the Niklas Harding Remix,

Its pretty average in my books, just seems a little bit rushed (i could be wrong)
It just seems to distract the attention from that main dark loop, which really makes this track work
Ive listened to a few of his other tracks, and they are soundly produced,
But this one dosnt do it for me

Original Mix 9.5/10
Niklas Harding Remix 5/10

both of you guys asume, that im basicly not doing anything on these tracks, curious how you are able to do that with the limitied amount of information you got on me and Anders Mikkelsen's way or working together! I will get him to reply on the issue, that might help your level of information a bit, if you dont trust my words. and sure i do know how to read basic notes, chords etc, ive been playing piano a couple of years back, when i was younger, is there anything wrong with getting better at that?

i do take criticizm to me when its usefull, lines like you wrote (Mcprog crap etc), i honestly couldnt use much to improve the stuff we do. I heard u didnt like the so called andy moor bassline, il take that into consideration next time working on a track. Thanks.

Taste differs from person to person, its rather impossible to make tracks that everybody loves.

and sure i do credit the guy involved, everywhere where i can! homepage, label info on the 12", interviews etc etc.

Niklas Harding: try to listen to other djs than Markus Schulz, Armin and Andy Moor. It's pretty obvious that you were influenced by the Andy Moor sound which by now pretty much everyone is copying. In other words if you don't want to end up with a massivly boring tune go for other influences.

But on the other hand if you are doing the tunes for yourself you are free to use anyones sound. It's just that this basslines have been whored to death by so many now hardly anyone will remember tunes like this one i 3 months.

Matthew Dekay:

Sound Revolt: You prefer to be called producer or musician?
Matthew Dekay: I’m more like a musician. I was taking piano lessons when I was only 5, so I started as a musician. Being a producer is some other job and you’re not the artist then. It’s all about sound and arrangements... I chose both but in the first place I’m a musician.

I have nothing against Niklas Harding.
I do have something against producers parading as technically gifted individuals when all they have done is hum their idea or choose what direction to go with their sound technician.

2 Niklas,
Your site is currently not loading here but i'm looking forward to viewing the pages for your praise of your studio partner
Might restore some of my faith in you away from this topic.

Completely on topic: the original rocks. By far JPL's best work - sadly i feel the release is timed a little late.. as most of the people i know were raving this tune 6 months ago when it was in Tijs' playlist... now its erm... exactly.

wow i hope he will not listen to you
As he said before, no one can do music that everyone likes and im glad he is doing this so called "mcprog" because it fuckin rocks. Boring for some not for others.
