what type of business stays open after a shooting?would you want to childrens school to stay open after a shooting??the fact that they stayed open was not only poor taste, but they also put everyone elses life at risk. what if the shooter was still in the club?looking to shoot someone else???i am sure at the time the cops and promoter had no idea what was going, they should of with out question shut down the club....

I am sorry I understand that it was in poor taste however if they shut down the club it would have caused panic and who knows what else could have had happened the club was definally over crowded I am guessing over 1500 people.. Them shutting down the music and telling people to go would have caused panic and maybe people going through emergency exits..

The cops where talking to each individual person, taking driver license number down.. I understand that it was in porr taste however It was the best thing to do in such a tragic event..

look for yourself.. imagine all this people rushing for the exits..

I am pretty sure the San Francisco Police Department helped make the decision to keep the main room open. If they wanted the whole place closed down, it would have been closed down. If they thought it was in the best interest to keep at least the main room opened, they were going to keep it open.

If they shut the whole place down at once it would have been harder on everyone. The SFPD were questioning every individually as they walked out. Can you imagine how much backup there would have been if 1,500 people had to leave at once and wait to be questioned? Allowing each room to be closed down one by one over a couple hours (upstairs was closed by 5am apparently) allowed for a more calm exiting crowd as people weren't going to pile up at the doors trying to get out.

Don't sit there and specifically hate on Ten15 for keeping the place open. Even Dave Helms said right in his post on the Spundae board that they did everything the SFPD asked them to.

People can hate on the Ten15 security, but compared to other risky places the security at Ten15 is exceptional. I'm sure they did the best they did with the instructions they had.

With the searches, I never thought Ten15 was too strict with the searches. But I have always thought metal detectors would have been a good idea....not the wands, but the doorway ones so it doesn't people don't feel their privacy has been violated in more than it is with the pat down. That way people just take things out of their pockets, walk through, get the light pat as usual, get their stuff and go in. Little time lost, if any.

Lastly, I do agree that Ten15 has a little more of a angry crowd these days than it once used to...but maybe I just never really noticed before. I just know back it he day it seemed like fights were rare. But out of every time I've been there in the last year, I can only remember not personally seeing a fight in the main room twice. The last two times I've been there. But, seriously, not much the Ten15 security can do to prevent fights.

I uderstand the panic issue, but it's also a safety issue. Maybe SF Police has never delt with anything like that, but unfortunately I've been at clubs where similar situations happen, and the first thing police do, is evacuate everyone into a secluded area. Police never lets anyone go until questioning everyone and getting everyone's info.

The fact of the matter still remains that there was a party going on at a Murder Scene. I remember when they killed some guy outside of Avalon during the Judge Jules show. Police didn't stop that party either, but it wasn't on Avalon's grounds, it was on the streets. Instead, police closed down the sidewalk and left only one of the side doors open.

WHAT THE FUC? What is wrong with people these days? A shooting at a nightclub?! HOLY SH|T! I love 1015, the layout of the club is one of the best ive seen, but they did start to go down hill when they introduced "hip-hop" night, drawing in a different type of crowd completely, then mixing them in 1 building with tranceheads. I knew it was a bad formula, and therefore made my descision way before this to never go there again, unless absolutely nessesary (Blank and Jones). But seriously WTF? Who would pay money to come see a DJ or have a fun night out in a club, and then want to bring in a gun? let alone to shoot someone? If there was a motiv, why at 1015? Couldnt he/she have waited till after the club? Was this deliberate? Or did someone just want to shoot anyone? Whoever the ASSassin is, has just ruined 1015's image/everyone's image of 1015.


Everytime ive ever been to 1015, they made me take my leatherman utility tool off my keychain, now I understand why, and will never again say: "its just a leatherman". Next time i will thank security for even noticing.

Id have to agree with MR STROKE about SF security searches being a joke. You go up the street to Ruby Skye, and even tho its a nicer club atmosphere wise, the security is way too lax for my taste, but ive never been the person to try to take in anything that wasnt allowed, so I let it go unnoticed.


My Condolences to the unnamed victim and their family. This never happens with EDM music club goers.

hip hop? ummm...I dunno what was playing in the basement but trance at 1015, esp. for PVD, brings in a shady element, and we all know what I am talking about. This is why I try to avoid going to that place like the plague. I'm ashamed to say that I went last night only cause Woody got me so hyped on PVD's LA set, I wanted to go hear for myself what PVD is doing with Serrato and Ableton lately. Thankfully we bought our way into VIP and weren't crushed and surrounded by as many shady individuals. Largely, people at 1015 on a night like PVD are not people I would EVER want to hang out with, with the exception of maybe a few pockets of cool people, but the element is just way out of control there on nights like this, so I am not surprised this happened. 1015 doesn't need a metal detector...it needs a SHADY ELEMENT DETECTOR...then the club would have been half as empty last night, but I am sure most people would be happy about that!

That said,
1. We weren't searched going in. We walked right in, I was shocked.
2. We left at 3:30 or so through the side alley-door, there were a couple of shadesters lingering by the door trying to sneak in, who knows maybe they were involved.
3. As we walked away from the club, I heard, I beleive it was security Dave, yelling to the first cop arriving, 3 shots fired, possible 187. (this was the first that we even realized anything happened.)

Me and my friend just thought, what the fuck? so ghetto.

So...I am not hating on security, the staff, the club itself. But I am hating on the shady element factor. And this is why I try to avoid going to 1015. done.

I got to 1015 around 12, no line for pre-sales and was in within a minute, no searches or anything,,,like many others didnt find out about the shooting til after PVD was done, the main room was in full throtle all the way til 4:15, was opn my way out and "WTF, a line to get out?" then I noticed all the cops and a couple told me that some guy got shot on the basement, WHOA!! the basement? the same place where they were playing trance? eh??...I was on the basement for a while on the line for coat-check but decided to leave cause the line was too long, crazy shit, ,,anyways 1015 should be all right, maybe a fine or so and more security but it will survive and I'm still gonna go, can't blame the club for that animal(the killer)

Could you picture the main room finding out about the shooting and over 1000 people rushing to get out at the same time! That would have been Crazy! People would have gotten really hurt....
