No mention of Thievery Corporation? So sad.

I'd say Vitalic or Felix da Housecat, but that's just a single producer for the most part, not a band/group. However, I do believe Miss Kittin & The Hacker would count in this case.

Of course, the usual suspects like Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Air. Roni Size/Reprazent's another one.

For a moment, I thought maybe Boards Of Canada would qualify as well, but then I remembered no one's really tried to emulate what they do, and really they're just doing what Aphex Twin was doing in the early 90's (in their own amazing way, mind).

To affect the nature, development, or condition of; modify.

although he did not pose the question initially, i can only assume that the thread starter meant to ask, "Which electronic musician(s) that has released music in the past 10 years, has been most influential on other electronic musicians or electronic music."

to be at the top of the list the musician would have to meet several conditions:

1) they would have had to release something in the last 10 years (duh!)

2) would have to had released something innovating. if it was not innovating, then the sound would not be distinguishable and hence credit could not be given to a particular musician(s). it follows then, depeche mode, and the like could not fit the bill because their sound has not changed much in the past 20 years and they sound like a lot of other musicians!

3) their innovative sound would have to be present in the sound of other musicians. just because a musician(s) was innovative and popular does not make it influential. it could be the case that other simply doen't imitiate them. to be influential, others musicians have to take their cue from the innovative musician.

4) the influenced musicians would have to recognize the compositions of the influencing musicians; they have to give credit.

given all of this, i have no fooken idea but i'm pretty sure that the closest is Kraftwerk.

DMs has very much evolved from their 80s sound. Albums like Ultra, Exciter and Playing The Angel are all very different from each other and released in the time period that the thread starter asked for.

Ok so Exciter wasnt so good but Ultra is a classic and PTA is already starting to become one.

Daft Punk

Basement Jaxx

Those 3 certainly stand out to me as the most influential of the last decade.

I find it funny that only house music artists are the ones getting credit here. There has to be atleast some Producer/DJ in the trance genre that has continually produced extraordinary music. Anyone?
