Either way, what's the big fuss about? In Sides clearly falls into the same category of music as other "early 90s" stuff, it's not like there's some "magic" line there.

Ooops, must've missed that passage, have me excused then. Anyways, 96 was pretty much a turning point year IMO, after that it went pretty much downhill quality wise.
