I have a golden retriever and a miniature schnauzer... i think you have to really evaluate what you can and can't handle and then choose a breed from there. My dogs are like kids, if i don't give them enough attention they will start to destroy stuff and shit in the house and cry and everything else you can imagine, i'm sure you've thought this through but all i can think of is how much those two breeds are going to shed... but good luck!

Malamutes are great dogs but they have a superiority complex. They will try to assert domonance over you. If you get one you must be very resolved to disipline it. For the first two years it will test you constantly and if you do not establish your pre-eminance in the hiarchy the dog will own you. Huskies are much more dosile and thus better pets, especially if you do not have tons of time to spend training.

I hope you have a very big yard.

Get one that will do your GF and tape it.
